Scar - Mature Disciform Scar
|
|
84-year-old man has age-related macular degeneration in both eyes, with a disciform scar in the right eye. He had a subfoveal hemorrhage in that eye treated with vitrectomy and displacement on May 3, 2006. He previous to that had photodynamic laser. His right eye unfortunately has had limited vision since the hemorrhage because of a disciform scar. His left eye had seemed pretty well. He does see some floaters there.
VISUAL ACUITY: Vision OD is 1/200, OS is 20/25. IOP: OD 12, OS 9. Posterior chamber intraocular lens in good position in both eyes.
EXTENDED OPHTHALMOSCOPY
OD: Fundus C/D ratio is 0.5. There is a white disciform scar three disc diameters across. There is no subretinal fluid, hemorrhage, or exudate.
OS: C/D ratio is 0.5. There is 1+ macular drusen. The OCT scan of the left eye confirms a dry macula.
IMPRESSION:
1. AGE-RELATED MACULAR DEGENERATION IN BOTH EYES.
2. DISCIFORM SCAR IN THE RIGHT EYE.
3. MACULAR DEGENERATION IN LEFT EYE.
