Streptococcus mitis Endophthalmitis following Intravitreal Avastin for wet AMD 88 Year Old Man treated with Avastin 02/28/13. Next day developed pain and severe vision loss. Treated with Intravitreal Vancomycin 1mg/0.1 cc; Ceftazidime 2mg/0.1cc; Decadron 0.4mg/0.1cc. Heavy growth Strep 2 days later from culture. Reinjected with Vancomycin 2 days after first Vancomyin. Now seeing Light Perception.
