Syphilis - optic neuropathy and placoid maculopathy

46 year old woman with black shadow over sight in the right eye starting about 2.5 weeks ago. The left eye is OK. The vision in the right eye is not any better or worse than it was when it started. There is no pain in the eyes. There is no pain on eye movement. She has dizziness once in a while with medication that she takes for bipolar. She has no history of focal neurological changes. She has 4 adult cats that live outside for the most part. She has had them for years. She inherited her mother's cats when her mother passed away. She had a severe rash from a medication for bipolar depression starting before Halloween. She has had no fevers or problems lately. She has no headaches. •VA OD: Dcc20/200-2 Ncc20/800+1 ; RPR tirer was 1:128 and RPR qual wias reactive. She also had IgG but not IgM for bartonella. Treponema was 15.33. Her WBC was normal.
•VA OS: Dcc20/20-2 NccJ3
The optic discs are both swollen and the FAF and ICG show a placoid maculopathy in the right eye. The OCT scans both show posterior vitreous cells.
