64 year old female: She woke up with a blurry area in the vision of the left eye. She was concerned (she has been in the optical business for 36 years). Her ophthalmologist asked her to come back for a visual field and then she had trouble finding someone on her insurance. Diagnosed at age 10 with RA (juvenille idiopathic). She is now doing a little better. She is now weaning off the prednisone very slowly (now on 3 mg per day). She has no eye pain and no pain on eye motion. She does have headaches which are the same as her usual headaches. 3-4 days prior to the vision loss in the left eye she did have an intermittent fever and upset stomach. She was helping with her sons cats a few months ago. She also felt neck pain and swollen lymph nodes around the back of her neck. VA OD: Dcc20/20 NccJ1 VA OS: Dcc20/160 NccJ16-1 Bartonellas IgG was very positive - IgM negative (this is true about 50 percent of cases) Her vision returned to 20/25 within about 2 months
