Coats Disease - Parafoveal Telangiectasis Type I

The patient lost vision in the right eye in early 2000. He had taken a flight to Ablequerque. He had pain in the eye during the flight. It felt like a smudge in his glasses. When he got back home his optometrist saw some vascular changes. The patient was diagnosed with MacTel and was not recommended any treatment. The patient has now been observed for several years. He recently saw a retina doctor who recommended laser in the right eye that was done in about 2003. The patient also had an injection of Avastin in the right eye in about 2004. The right eye has now been stable. He used to see bends in the grid and these days things have been straight in the right eye. The left eye is free of problems. A few years ago he noticed floaters and he was diagnosed with PVD in the left eye. He had previously had a PVD in the right eye. A catheterization for CAD showed not much plaque but tortuosity of his coronary arteries.
