37-year-old woman had retinal detachment repairs in both eyes. Two month ago she had a macula off retinal detachment repair in the right eye. VISUAL ACUITY: OD 20/40, OS 4/200. IOP: OD 15, OS 17. The right eye has a clear lens. The left eye has oil filling the anterior chamber. EXTENDED OPTHALMOSCOPY: OD: Vertical C/D ratio is 0.3. The retina is attached on a moderate buckle with membranes forming on the inferior retina, but the retina there is still attached. There is couter clockwise torsion of the retina and the fovea is displaced inferiorly. OS: Vertical C/D ratio is 0.1. The macula is either thick or there is a shallow detachment temporally. There is a 360 degree laser holding everything in place and the eye has got a 99% oil fill. IMPRESSION: 1. STATUS POST COMPLEX RETINAL DETACHMENT REPAIRS – BOTH EYES DISCUSSION: I explained to the patient the intraocular pressure is good today and her retinas are holding nicely in place. I asked her to return for a check in a week, sooner should she notice any problems. She will see you periodically. Thank you for allowing me to participate in her care.
