Paraneoplastic / Auto-immune retinopathy - also low vitamin A 73 year old man: The patient noticed vision loss starting before the cataract surgery about 6 months ago. The patient has been putting lights in closets a few years ago. Now he notices that he needs more light to see clearly. Definition and resolution is not good. He needs sunglasses for being out in the light. His usual retina specialist saw a big change in scans from 2019 compared to the present. The patient had a lot of blood tests. Some are back and some are not back yet. The patient had leukemia treated starting in 2007. He has CLL which is chronic. Two months ago he had a melanoma on his chest which was removed clean. His father has wavy vision on the grid but there is no significant vision loss. The patient's weight dropped from 180 to 160 over the past 6 months. But he is eating less. He does have GI trouble from the Leukemia medication. Medical Hx: Diabetes Type II. Luekemia. Prostate cancer . Thyroid cancer. Melanoma. Surgical Hx: Cataract. Thyroidectomy. Gallbladder. Systemic Meds: Calquence (acalabrutinib) 100mg Tablet 1 tablet bid. METHYLPREDNISOLONE . Hydrocodoneaceramin . Tresiba insulin. Januvia 100 MG Oral Tablet. NOVALOG. Levothyroxine .
