am meisten angesehen - Aborted Macular Hole - Pre-Foveal Opercula This pleasant 61-year-old man had a small Stage 2 macular hole, which spontaneously looked like it was closing when I saw him back in January. He still notices a spot in the vision and the vision doesn’t seem any better. One year after the macular hole self-sealed, he is still bothered by a pre-foveal opercula
VISUAL ACUITY: OD 20/20. IOP: 15. There is 1+ nuclear sclerosis.
EXTENDED OPHTHALMOSCOPY:
OD: Vertical C/D ratio is 0.0. The macular hole is closed. The fovea contour is completely back to normal, however, he does have a prefoveal opercula floating about a millimeter in front of the very center of the fovea in that eye.
IMPRESSION:
1. ABORTED MACULAR HOLE – RIGHT EYE
2. PREFOVEAL OPERCULA – RIGHT EYE
DISCUSSION: I explained to the patient the macular hole is aborted and the foveal contour looks completely normal, but unfortunately there is an opercula floating right in front of his central vision. That in all likelihood will separate over the next six to twelve months.
